Electrical RequirementsTo allow you to understand what is meant when you read or hear "NEMA Receptacle # 6-30R," here is a guide to these terms. If you have any questions about the electrical hookup for your kiln, please contact your local electrician.NEMA is an acronym for National Electrical Manufacturers Association, which sets standards for the configuration of electrical equipment. "R" after the number = Receptacle "P" after the number = Plug Remember, if you look at a plug straight on and also at its receptacle, they will be mirror images of each other.
